Wordmark logos spells out company’s or brand’s name in a creative way. These are often made with custom fonts specifically created for the logo. Google, Coca-cola and IBM are some of the most recognizable wordmark logos.

Apple and Nike have two of the most recognizable symbolic logos in the world. Such logos use a single graphic element to represent the brand, without any text.
Logos that only use icons may not work very well for new brands until people have become used to the symbol. For this reason, companies that want to use an icon based logo combine it with a wordmark. Such logos are called combination mark logos.

These logos represents company through brand’s first letter or the initials. You should consider these kinds of logos if the brand name is long or contains multiple words.
Organizations with long brand names often prefer lettermark logos. These are represented typographically and the combination of letters become a symbol and acts as a logo.
Harley Davidson and Starbucks are two of the well know brands that use an emblem-style logo. Here the logo is shaped like a badge or seal and the name of the company is included inside it.
